Vote YES on Core Infrastructure
Congress is about to consider the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, which would invest billions into our nation's core infrastructure and represent the largest federal commitment to fixing our nation's outdated water, electric, broadband, and surface transportation systems in generations.
The bipartisan core infrastructure bill delivers historic levels of funding for water infrastructure and lead pipe service line replacement, on the order of over $55 billion. It includes over $42 billion for the buildout of modern high-speed broadband networks. And it includes over $110 billion in funding for surface transportation and $73 billion in electric grid improvements; a huge boon to the utility construction industry nationwide. Furthermore, this bill does NOT include any elements of the controversial PRO Act, but it does includes significant permitting reforms designed to speed up the construction process, including codification of the "One Federal Decision" executive order and FAST-41 reauthorization. All-in-all, this is a generational bill that contains many priorities NUCA has been advocating on behalf of for decades.
Unfortunately, politics are threatening to sink this vote, due to perceived ties to the highly-partisan budget reconciliation bill that is also moving through Congress.
Please, take a moment to submit or confirm your information, and tell your representative to vote YES on the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. It will only take a moment to tell Congress to vote YES on CORE INFRASTRUCTURE.
