Bring HB580/SB402 to a vote!

Unless either the Senate or House committees votes on HB580/SB402 by Tuesday March 16th, this important bill will not get a vote on the floor.

Please help with the letter writing campaign. We are asking the Chairs and Vice Chairs to bring HB580/SB402, as amended, to a vote in their Committees.

As noted by the Job Opportunities Task Force (JOTF), suspending licenses for lower-income individuals runs counter to the purposes of increasing child support compliance. There are reasonable solutions to this problem. HB580/SB402, as amended, directly speak to this problem and forward a proposal that preserves Maryland's compliance with the Federal Code. Done this way Maryland will not lose funding, citizens will not lose jobs, and children will continue to be supported.

When you fill in the form a sample letter will be generated. These letters are most effective if you personalize the subject and content.
